🎤 Who Is Aria?

Aria is a new S-Rank Ether / Anomaly Agent and the lead vocalist of the Angels of Delusion faction, debuting in Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.6. She fights in a mix of human and robotic forms, swinging a mic-sword and flooding the field with “Light Sticks” like a one-woman concert.

Her role: a high-ceiling Ether Anomaly DPS who:

  • Builds and consumes Light Sticks / Super Light Sticks

  • Triggers a special reaction called Abloom to detonate existing Anomaly damage

  • Buffs the entire squad’s ATK while she’s in Enhanced State

If you enjoy aggressive, rhythm-style gameplay with big payoff windows, Aria is basically built for you.

🔧 Signature W-Engine — Ether Anomaly Turbocharger

Aria’s 5★ signature W-Engine (Anomaly Mastery class) is tailor-made to turn her Ether gameplan into overdrive:

  • Base ATK: ~714

  • Class: Anomaly

  • Passive Highlights:

    • +40% Ether Anomaly Buildup Rate

    • When she enters the field or uses Special / EX Special, she gains a 12s buff:

      • Increased damage to any Anomaly-afflicted enemy

      • Extra damage specifically to Ether-Anomaly-afflicted enemies

    • Refreshes on re-trigger, but disappears when she leaves the field

Translation: as long as she’s rotating in, using specials, and focusing on enemies already in Anomaly states, her damage ramps hard. This W-Engine is essentially a “stay on, spam skills, abuse anomalies” button for Aria.

🪄 Light Sticks, Charge Attacks & Decibels — Core Gameplay Loop

At the heart of Aria’s kit is a concert mechanic: Light Sticks + Charge Attacks + Decibels.

🎼 Basic Attack — 4-Hit String With Light Stick Setup

Her Basic Attack is a 4-hit combo of Ether slashes. The important bit:

  • If the 4th hit connects, she spawns 1 Light Stick on the field.

These Light Sticks are like mini power batteries for her Charge Attack and Enhanced State.

🔋 Charge Attack — Level 1–3, Super Armor, and Stick Absorption

Holding Basic Attack charges up a powerful slam with three levels of charge:

  • While charging:

    • She gains higher anti-interrupt and takes 40% less damage

    • The Charge Attack itself makes her invulnerable

  • If there are Light Sticks nearby while charging:

    • She absorbs them

    • Each Light Stick absorbed:

      • Instantly adds 1 charge level

      • Grants 20 Decibels

      • Gives a stack of a buff: next Charge Attack deals more damage and builds more Anomaly (up to 2 stacks)

Quality of life bonus: after specific moves (4th Basic hit, Shift Strike, EX Special, Lv3 Charge, etc.) if there are 2+ Light Sticks nearby, holding Basic Attack can instantly fire a Level 3 Charge Attack without needing to fully charge.

So your flow is:

Build Light Sticks → Charge → absorb sticks → super-charged slam → repeat.

🌀 Mobility & Assists — Stylish, Safe, and Still in Combo

Aria’s mobility and assist kit focus on keeping pressure without dropping your string:

  • Dodge:

    • A quick Ether dash with invulnerability

    • Does not reset your Basic Attack chain if used mid-combo

  • Dash Attack:

    • Dodge → Basic Attack = dash-slash Ether attack that keeps your combo going

  • Perfect Dodge Counter:

    • Perfect dodge → Basic Attack = a big counter slash, Ether damage and i-frames.

For assists:

  • Quick Assist: jumps in with a hard Ether slash when your active Agent is launched

  • Defensive Assist: parry that applies huge Daze when your frontliner is about to take a hit

  • Assist Follow-Up: extends into a flurry of Ether hits after a successful Defensive Assist

Every part of her kit is tuned for aggressive, safe frontlining — lots of invulnerability windows and combo retention.

🦵 Special & EX Special — Light Stick Generators

Her Special tree is where the Light Stick factory really kicks in:

  • Special Attack:

    • A forward Ether kick with increased anti-interrupt

  • Special Attack: Shift Strike:

    • Can be used after key actions (4th Basic, Lv3 Charge, counters, assists, Chain, Ultimate)

    • Faster Ether kick that spawns 1 Light Stick on hit

  • EX Special Attack (Phase 1):

    • A powerful kick followed by a sonic wave, lots of Ether damage

    • On hit: spawns 3 Light Sticks

  • EX Special Attack (Phase 2):

    • With enough Energy after EX, pressing Special again drops a big downward strike

    • On hit: spawns another 3 Light Sticks

All EX and Shift variants give her invulnerability, letting you weave them into the heaviest parts of enemy patterns.

🔗 Chain Attack & Ultimate — Enhanced State, Super Light Sticks & Team Buffs

When a Chain Attack is triggered, picking Aria unleashes a big sequence of Ether slashes with full i-frames — standard ZZZ burst, but tuned for high Ether output.

The real star is her Ultimate:

🎶 Ultimate — Ether Veil: Idol & Super Light Sticks

When her Decibel Rating is maxed, Aria can pop her Ultimate to:

  • Enter Enhanced State

  • Fire multiple high-power Ether shots at the target

  • Instantly unlock an Enhancement Gauge and gain the max number of Super Light Sticks

  • Activate Ether Veil: Idol:

    • All squad members gain a flat +50 ATK for 30 seconds

    • Casting Ether Veil again overwrites the previous buff.

Super Light Sticks are like turbo-charged Light Sticks:

  • While charging, she spends Super Light Sticks first

    • Each one boosts charge level by 2

  • Remaining Super Light Sticks are converted into regular Light Sticks on the field (before and after Enhanced State ends), feeding back into her Charge Attack loop

Enhanced State lasts up to 15 seconds by default and upgrades her Lv3 Charge into a stronger Enhanced Charge Attack.

🌸 Core Skill — Abloom & Anomaly Weakened State

Aria’s Core Passive turns her into an Anomaly damage detonator. When her Level 3 Charge Attack hits a target suffering certain Attribute Anomalies (Ether, Electric, Fire, Physical, Ice), she triggers Abloom

  • Abloom deals extra Anomaly damage based on a percentage of the original Anomaly damage per 10 points of her Anomaly Proficiency

  • When she’s in the squad, enemies entering Ether Anomaly automatically gain an Anomaly Weakened State for 20s

  • If Aria triggers Ether Anomaly again on an enemy already in that weakened state, she fires a stronger Abloom, with a higher scaling percentage

Effectively:

Other Agents set up Anomalies → Aria’s Lv3 Charge detonates them with Abloom → weakened enemies take even nastier follow-ups.

This makes her insanely potent in teams that constantly apply Anomalies (especially Ether-heavy comps).

🎬 Mindscape Cinema (Talents) — From Strong to Completely Broken

Aria’s Mindscape Cinema upgrades (her “constellations”) twist her kit from strong to absurd:

  • Talent 1:

    • Her core attacks ignore a chunk of Ether Anomaly Buildup Resistance, and can proc a built-in CRIT hit with a high base chance and bonus CRIT DMG, scaling further when a specific stat threshold is exceeded.

  • Talent 2:

    • Enhanced State duration doubles to around 30s

    • Max Super Light Sticks increases, and her attacks while Enhanced ignore a percent of DEF

  • Talent 3 & 5:

    • Flat +2 levels to Basic, Dodge, Assist, Special, and Chain skills each

  • Talent 4:

    • Every time she triggers Abloom, she gains Energy and Decibels, on a cooldown

    • This feeds back into more Ultimates and more Enhanced windows

  • Talent 6:

    • Upon entering battle, she starts with 1500 Decibels

    • Once she enters Enhanced State, she never falls out of it

    • Her Enhanced Charge Attack deals more Ether damage

    • Re-triggering Ether Anomaly on weakened enemies grants extra Super Light Sticks

At M6, she basically becomes a permanent concert mode anomaly carry.

✅ Why Aria Is a Big Deal for the ZZZ Meta

Putting it all together, Aria brings:

  • Explosive Anomaly playstyle: Abloom converts existing Anomaly setups into huge follow-up damage.

  • Deep resource management: juggling Light Sticks, Super Light Sticks, Decibels, and Enhanced State planning.

  • Team utility: Ether Veil: Idol gives party-wide ATK, and Anomaly Weakened State makes enemies more vulnerable to your whole squad.

  • High skill ceiling: perfect dodge counters, charge cancels, Light Stick routing, and Enhanced uptime let good players squeeze out massive DPS.

For Proxies who love technical DPS with team support baked in, she looks like a premier pull target in 2.6.

💡 Early Player Tips

  • Build Anomaly Proficiency + Ether bonuses: Abloom scales with Anomaly Proficiency; her W-Engine and Drive Discs should feed into Anomaly and Ether DMG.

  • Rotate around Enhanced State: Treat her Ultimate as the start of a burst window where your whole squad goes all-in.

  • Pair with other Anomaly setters: Characters who reliably stack Ether or other Anomalies make Aria’s Abloom procs shine.

  • Practice Lv3 Charge timing: Learning when to quick-launch Level 3 charges and how to position Light Sticks will drastically boost your real-world damage.
