Where Winds Meet Hidden Mountain Chapter Two: Everything on 20 August
By Michael Pras 18 August 2026, 14:00 WIB
Hidden Mountain Chapter Two arrives on 20 August, and the roadmap carries an unusual structure: two of its biggest pieces aren't gated behind a date at all. The Heaven's Threshold map unlocks through all-player progress in the Cloudtop Ascent event, and the Mirkvale campaign unlocks only after Heaven's Threshold does. That makes the server's collective effort the key that opens the chapter's back half — no amount of individual grinding gets you there alone. Alongside that, the 20th brings a new main story arc, two world bosses, two Mystic Skills, three new modes and the global launch of the Ghost Month event, with a further wave on 3 September. And there's a redeem code sitting on the roadmap itself. Here's the full breakdown.
Everything arriving 20 August
New content:
- Main Story: Muted Skies & Gold Crow Fall
- Jianghu Legacy: Evershift Labyrinth — solve mechanisms and clear the maze
- World Bosses: Inkpincer Scorpion & Cloudclutch Serpent

- Cloudtop Ascent — all players work together to rebuild the Cloudstair
- Pangolin Peddler — a laid-back mountain trading experience
- Chasing the Sky — steer a wooden eagle and ride the wind
- Mystic Skill: Bursting Nine — unleash nine Qi arrows to suppress foes
- Mystic Skill: World to Sword — focus Qi into a blade to strike targets
Appearances and rewards:
- Battle Pass: Strokes of Grace
- Kite in the Painting appearance set
The cooperative unlock chain
This is the part worth understanding before the 20th, because it changes how the chapter unfolds.
Cloudtop Ascent → Heaven's Threshold → Mirkvale.
Cloudtop Ascent asks the entire playerbase to rebuild the Cloudstair together. Clearing its Step Up requirement through all-player progress unlocks the Heaven's Threshold map. Only once Heaven's Threshold is open does the Mirkvale campaign — described as a workshop of mechanical marvels — become available.
Three consequences:
Participation matters more than skill. A server-wide progress bar rewards volume of contribution. Logging in and contributing is worth more than optimising a single run.
The unlock date is unknowable in advance. Heaven's Threshold could open days after launch or considerably later, depending on how quickly players engage. Plan to check rather than assuming a schedule.
Early participation is worth more than late. If you want to explore Heaven's Threshold and Mirkvale during the chapter rather than at its end, contributing in the opening week is how that happens.
Ghost Month launches globally
Two dates, and they're separate:
- 20 August — Wind's Far Shore
- 27 August — Reflection Temple, described as a brand-new stage steeped in Chinese horror and Ghost Month folklore
Reflection Temple arriving a week later is easy to miss if you clear the 20 August content and assume the Ghost Month event is finished. Ghost Month is a genuine cultural observance rather than a generic seasonal skin, and this is its global debut in Where Winds Meet.
The 3 September wave
Three more items land two weeks after the chapter opens:
- Martial Art: Bamboocut – Draught
- Jianghu Legacy: Ephemeral Glory
- 10-Player Hero's Realm: Zheng E & Snowplum Requiem
The 10-player Hero's Realm is the headline there. Large-group content typically demands coordination rather than individual power, so if you're in a guild, that's a date worth flagging to your leadership now — three weeks is enough time to organise a roster.
Two new Mystic Skills
Bursting Nine and World to Sword both arrive on the 20th.
Where Winds Meet builds around a Path system rather than fixed classes, which means new skills can genuinely change what your character does well rather than simply adding damage. Two new Mystic Skills landing simultaneously is a meaningful addition to the build space — particularly following the 7 August balance pass, which specifically targeted Paths that were underperforming.
If you shelved a build earlier this season, the combination of that buff pass and two new skills is a reasonable prompt to revisit it. Our Version 2.0 guide covers the balance changes and the guild season running alongside.
Redeem HM0820
The roadmap carries a redemption code: HM0820.
Codes in Where Winds Meet expire without extensive notice, and this one is clearly tied to the 20 August launch. Redeem it rather than bookmarking it — the pattern in this genre is that launch-tied codes lapse within weeks.
What to do before the 20th
- Finish outstanding Guild War League matches. Guild Season 33's placement phase has been running since 1 August, and a new chapter will pull attention away from it.
- Clear what you can of the current Hidden Mountain content so you're not splitting time between old and new on launch day.
- Revisit your Path if the 7 August buffs affected it — you'll want to know your build before two new Mystic Skills arrive.
- Flag 3 September to your guild for the 10-player Hero's Realm.
- Redeem HM0820 when the chapter opens.
- Plan to contribute to Cloudtop Ascent early, since the map and campaign behind it open on collective progress rather than a date.
Why this chapter matters
Version 2.0 introduced Hidden Mountain as a region on 23 July. Chapter Two is the content that fills it in — a story arc, two world bosses, a labyrinth, three modes and, behind the cooperative gate, an entire additional map and campaign.
The roadmap is also explicitly labelled Part 1, which means more has been planned and not yet shown. Whatever follows will likely be announced closer to the September wave.
Push through the chapter
A chapter this dense rewards consistent play across three weeks — and the cooperative unlock means the players who show up early see the back half sooner.
