PGR Karenina Effulgence Build: Memory Sets, Weapon and CUB

Karenina: Effulgence is live, and her build has one detail that changes how you value her signature weapon. Torrent Rush's base damage scales with how much Azure Tide you consume — and Star of Niflheim doubles that scaling entirely. That isn't a flat damage passive bolted onto a kit; it's a multiplier on the mechanic her whole rotation is built around, which puts it in a different category from most signature weapons. The other build decision is friendlier than it looks: she runs two viable memory paths, Physical and Darkflow, and both use Santiago ×4. So the farming you do now is correct regardless of which direction you commit to. Here's the full build.

Her core loop

Three named mechanics drive everything:

• Azure Tide — her resource, built through combat
• Torrent Rush — consumes Azure Tide, with base damage scaling on the amount spent
• Rapid Torrent — a state she enters that carries additional buffs

Her Ultimate is Myriadtides Seabreaker, and she applies a debuff called Piercing Blow.

The practical read: don't dump Torrent Rush at low Azure Tide. Since its damage scales with the amount consumed, casting early wastes the mechanic. Build the resource, then spend it in one meaningful cast.

Memory sets — and why Santiago is the safe farm

Physical build: Santiago ×4 + Patton ×4 Darkflow build: Santiago ×4 + Bathlon ×4

Santiago appears in both. That's the single most useful thing to know before you start farming: four pieces of Santiago are correct whichever path you eventually take, so there's no wrong answer while you're still deciding.

The choice between Patton and Bathlon comes down to your team. Darkflow works differently from a straight elemental setup — a gauge fills as your constructs attack, and once it caps, a Darkflow field deploys, applies debuffs, and converts incoming damage into Darkflow damage. If you're running a Darkflow composition, Bathlon supports that; if she's slotting into a conventional Physical core, Patton is the pairing.

Resonance:

• Any ATK: ATK +15 ×6
• Boundless Deluge: Signature Move Level +1 ×6

Star of Niflheim — the 6★ signature

Effects:

• ATK increases by 10%
• Piercing Blow applied by Karenina increases by 20%
• Each entry, the first cast of Torrent Rush consuming ≥300 Azure Tide grants 6 Signal Orbs
• Doubles the effect that increases Base DMG of Torrent Rush based on Azure Tide consumed

That last line is the reason this weapon matters more than a typical signature. Her damage identity is Azure Tide consumption, and this doubles the return on it.

The 300 Azure Tide threshold is a build instruction in itself. Your first Torrent Rush each entry should clear that number, because the six Signal Orbs it grants feed your ping economy immediately.

Weapon resonances:

• Domain Deconstruction — inflicts Corrosion on dealing damage, reducing the target's All Resistances by 8% for 8 seconds, refreshing on retrigger
• Deadline Timing — grants 2 extra random Signal Orbs on deployment, plus 3 Signal Orbs of the same colour every 45 seconds, and continues generating orbs while on standby
• Glorious Afterglow — the weapon's Final ATK increases by 30% for 8 seconds upon a 3-ping, resetting on repeated triggers

Deadline Timing is the quiet standout because it generates Signal Orbs on standby — value accruing while she isn't the active frame, which matters in a game built on three-frame rotations.

The 5★ alternative is Spindrift Shimmer if you don't pull the signature.

Patrick — the 6★ CUB

Effects:

• After Karenina casts Torrent Rush with Patrick equipped, she summons him for a joint attack dealing 8 instances of 937.5% Physical DMG
• When Karenina enters Rapid Torrent, her ATK increases by 20% for 8 seconds, refreshing on repeated triggers

Recommended upgrade skills: Active / Passive 4 / Passive 5.

Both of Patrick's effects key off mechanics she uses anyway, which makes him a straightforward pairing rather than a conditional one.

Early community recommendations converge on SS0 as the meaningful investment point, and the reasons are specific:

• Piercing Blow applied increases by 40%
• Entering Rapid Torrent, casting Torrent Rush, and casting Myriadtides Seabreaker all trigger available QTEs
• Most of her damage kit improves — Core, Basic Attack and Ultimate

The QTE line is the one that changes how she plays rather than how hard she hits. Three separate actions triggering QTEs means considerably more team rotation flexibility, which compounds across a full fight.

Should you pull?

The strongest argument is roster-shaped rather than tier-shaped. Physical rosters have gone a long stretch without a fresh premium damage dealer, while Ice, Fire and Dark teams pulled ahead patch after patch. Effulgence is the first serious answer in a while — so if your Physical core has been idle, she fills a real gap rather than adding to a crowded bracket.

She's also Karenina's fourth frame and only her second offensive S-Rank, which matters for anyone who has been waiting for her to return to a damage seat.

Be realistic about the cost. Pulling the frame, her weapon and her CUB in a single version is expensive, and daily income alone rarely covers all three. If you have to choose, the frame first, then Star of Niflheim — since the weapon doubles her core scaling, it's worth more on her than a typical signature is on most frames.

Skip if your Physical damage is already handled and your Black Cards are earmarked. Steering By Light runs to 23 September, so there's no need to decide in the opening week.
