The Five New Promo Cards

The Drop Event adds five promo cards, numbered Promo-B 96 to 100, and you can obtain one copy of each:
- Falinks
- Gible
- Gabite
- Mega Garchomp ex
- Delcatty
Gible, Gabite and Mega Garchomp ex form a complete evolution line, so the event gives you everything you need to build around the new Mega in a single run.
Mega Garchomp ex Card Breakdown

- Type: Dragon
- Stage: Stage 2, evolving from Gabite
- HP: 220
- Weakness: none
- Retreat cost: 2
Falling Edge costs one Water, one Fighting and one Colorless Energy and deals 190 damage. After the attack, you discard 2 random Energy from Mega Garchomp ex.
As a Mega Evolution ex, it follows the Mega rule: if it is Knocked Out, your opponent scores 3 points, which is enough to win the game outright. That makes it a high-risk, high-reward attacker. 190 damage knocks out many Pokémon in one hit, but you must protect it carefully.
Having no Weakness is a real advantage, because opponents cannot exploit an extra 20 damage to reach its 220 HP. The Energy discard is the main drawback, so plan for a second attacker or Energy support while it recovers.
Event Battle Tiers and Tasks
Each tier gives first-time rewards for completing its tasks, plus chance rewards for every win.
Beginner (2 first-time rewards)
- Knock Out the opponent's Active Pokémon with a Dragon-type attack
- Put 3 Basic Pokémon into play
Intermediate (4 first-time rewards)
- Knock Out with a Dragon-type attack
- Put a Stage 1 Pokémon into play
- Win by turn 14
Advanced (6 first-time rewards)
- Knock Out with a Dragon-type attack
- Win with a Mega Evolution ex in your deck
- Deal 100 or more damage in a single attack
- Win without your opponent scoring any points
Highest tier (8 first-time rewards)
- Win without any ex Pokémon in your deck
- Win with a Mega Evolution ex in your deck
- Deal 100 or more damage in a single attack
- Win 5 battles
- Win 10 battles
Event Missions
Alongside the battles, the event missions reward participation, with goals at 1, 3, 5, 10 and 15 battles. Any event battle counts, so replaying the easier tiers is a quick way to clear them.
Deck Tips for the Event Battles
The task list shapes the deck you need, so plan around it rather than bringing your usual ranked deck:
- Bring a Dragon-type attacker. Several tasks require a KO with a Dragon-type attack.
- Pack a Mega Evolution ex for the Advanced and highest-tier tasks. Any Mega you already own works, and once you have the event's own Mega Garchomp ex, you can use it too.
- Build a second deck with no ex Pokémon for the "win without any ex" task. Strong non-ex Stage 2 lines are perfect here.
- Include a heavy hitter that can deal 100+ damage in one attack.
- Play defensively for the "win without your opponent scoring" task. A tanky Active Pokémon and healing cards make this much easier.
If you are still building your Mega collection, the cards from Mega Rising give you plenty of options, and a deck built around Mega Altaria ex is a dependable way to cover the Mega Evolution tasks.
How to Build Around Mega Garchomp ex
Once you have the full line, the basic plan is simple:
- Protect Gible on the Bench early.
- Evolve into Gabite, then Mega Garchomp ex, or use Rare Candy to skip Gabite.
- Attach Water and Fighting Energy so Falling Edge is ready the turn it evolves.
- Use a backup attacker while Mega Garchomp ex rebuilds Energy after each attack.
Because it gives up 3 points when Knocked Out, avoid leaving it in the Active spot against an opponent who can already deal 220 damage.
Your Mega Garchomp ex Checklist
- Start the event on October 15.
- Clear Beginner and Intermediate with a Dragon-type deck.
- Bring a Mega Evolution ex for the Advanced and highest tiers.
- Prepare a no-ex deck for the hardest task.
- Finish 15 battles for all participation missions.
- Complete everything before October 25.
- Open your promo packs before November 1.
Mega Garchomp ex brings huge damage and no Weakness to Pokémon TCG Pocket, and the Drop Event hands you the full evolution line for free. Clear the tiers early, keep a no-ex deck ready for the hardest task, and you will have every new promo card well before the deadline.
