Monster Hunter Outlanders Launch: Free Rewards, Specs and Download Size

Monster Hunter Outlanders is officially live. The Capcom-licensed mobile hunting game from TiMi Studio Group opened its global servers on October 28 at 22:00 UTC, which landed on the morning of October 29 across Asia, and it arrives with a stack of free launch rewards and its first featured recruitment. Launch Time and Servers

All servers opened at the same moment: October 28, 22:00 UTC. The game is free to play on iOS and Android, and the official FAQ confirms controller support.

The global version launches with four server:

• Asia Pacific
• Korea
• Latam
• MidEast Africa

Server data is independent and cannot be transferred, and cross-region squads, friend requests and teaming are not supported. If you plan to hunt with friends, everyone needs to create a character on the same server, so it is worth agreeing on one before you register.

In some Southeast Asian markets, including Malaysia, Singapore and the Philippines, the game is published separately by Garena with its own client and accounts. Check which version is offered in your region before downloading, since progress does not carry over between the two. The mainland China version is scheduled for 2027 onwards, and there is no PC version announced for now.

Free Rewards Waiting at Launch

Pre-registration passed 15 million worldwide on October 27, a figure that includes sign-ups for the mainland China version. To celebrate, every player receives:

The developers then added a second gift after the game reached No. 1 on the App Store Top Free Games chart in several markets: 5 Featured Contracts, on top of the pre-registration milestone rewards. These do not arrive right away. You need to reach Adventurer Level 4 before they show up in your in-game mailbox.

The launch season adds even more. Season 0: Twin Suns ~ Land of Radiance gives enough recruitment items for more than 400 recruits across the season, and event missions unlock three free SSR companions:

• Luka, SSR Adventurer
• Pyro, SSR Adventurer
• Kojiro, SSR Buddy

First Featured Recruitment: Midori

The opening banner is the SSR Adventurer Featured Recruitment, Autumn Refrain, with increased odds for Midori, an Assault SSR Adventurer.

The banner runs from server launch until November 27, 2026 at 02:59:59 UTC, which gives you almost a full month to save Contracts from Season 0 and the launch gifts before deciding whether to pull.

Adventurer's Guild Campaign

Alongside the launch, the Adventurer's Guild Campaign runs from October 29 to November 30. Players around the world work together on server-wide challenges, and every completed goal unlocks rewards for everyone. The official account has also teased more community activities with prizes during the campaign.

Device Requirements

The official requirements come in two tiers. The minimum specs get the game running, while the recommended specs are what you need for a smooth experience.

Minimum requirements:

• iOS: iOS 15 or above, iPhone 8 Plus or newer, 3GB RAM
• Android: Android 9 or above, Snapdragon 835 or Dimensity 920 or better, 4GB RAM

Recommended specs:

• iOS: iOS 17 or above, iPhone 13 Pro or newer, 6GB RAM
• Android: Android 12 or above, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 or Dimensity 9200 or better, 8GB RAM

The developers warn that playing on unsupported devices can lead to overheating, lag or crashes. Higher frame rates and graphics settings also make phones run hotter and drain the battery faster, so lowering those settings is the first fix if your device struggles.

Download Size and How to Start Playing

The client is about 16GB on Android and 20GB on iOS. Installation also extracts resources after the download, so the actual space needed will be a little higher than those numbers. A Wi-Fi connection is the safer choice for a download this size.

Getting into your first hunt takes a few steps:

1. Download the game from the App Store or Google Play. Store pages may take a little time to update in some regions.
2. Finish the resource download from the login screen. Downloading all game resources is required to claim the launch rewards.
3. Log in with a Level Infinite account (email), Google, X, Apple, Facebook, LINE or Discord.
4. Pick your server carefully, since it cannot be changed or transferred later.
5. Choose your control mode. Adventure Mode keeps combat to three core buttons (Attack, Evade and Burst), while Classic Mode keeps the traditional series controls.
6. Reach Adventurer Level 4 and open your mailbox to collect the 5 Featured Contracts.

At launch, the game supports Japanese, English, Simplified Chinese, French, German, Spanish (Latin America), Portuguese (Brazil), Korean and Traditional Chinese, which you can change under Settings, then Language. Thai is not available yet, and the developers say they are looking at adding it in a future update.

You can sign in to the same account on different devices, but not at the same time.

What You Will Be Hunting

The adventure takes place in Aesoland, a new world with a new story, where the Elder Dragon Ruger Aidal and the mystery of a Second Sun sit at the center of the launch season. Alongside it are Radiant Species, exclusive monsters that change with their environment.

You can hunt solo or in a squad of up to four players, using seven weapon types at launch:

• Great Sword
• Long Sword
• Dual Blades
• Hammer
• Lance
• Heavy Bowgun
• Bow

More weapons are planned for future updates. Each weapon pairs with Adventurers to unlock new Follow-up moves.
