MapleStory x Frieren: Beyond Journey's End — Full Event Guide, Every Date and Reward
By Michael Pras 28 August 2026, 22:00 WIB
Everything in the collaboration runs on one window: 9 September (after maintenance) UTC to 7 October, 11:59 PM UTC. Five things sit inside it — two events you play and three products you buy — and the official page keeps them visually similar enough that it's easy to assume the outfits are event rewards. They aren't.
Note the start time. It's post-maintenance on the 9th, not midnight, and the close is an exact 11:59 PM UTC on 7 October.
What you earn: the two events
Frieren's Spell Collection
9 September (after maintenance) – 7 October, 11:59 PM UTC.
Join Frieren and her companions in collecting special magic spells across MapleStory. Structurally it's a board-game progression built on an Adventure Map of 20 numbered stops, tracked in an Adventure Journal.
The moving parts, from the interface preview:
- Adventures Completed — 0/20. Your position along the map.
- Adventure Pass — the fuel that moves you along it. You start with a stock of them.
- Adventure Coins — a separate currency, spent in the event's own shop.
- Grimoire Collection — 0/6. Six Grimoires is the full set.
- Adventure Journal — a daily claim, opening on day one of your Maple World adventure.
And the part that decides whether you finish: a "This Week" tracker. The preview shows a weekly objective — defeat 1,000 monsters around Maple World — sitting above a row of weekly progress markers.
That confirms weekly gating across a four-week event. Weekly objectives in MapleStory don't roll over. Skipping week one doesn't leave more to do in week four; it removes a week's worth of Passes and Coins permanently, and 20 map stops is not a total you can rush at the end.
The instruction that follows: clear the weekly quota every week, starting the week of the 9th. This is the single failure point in the whole collaboration.
Adventure with Frieren's Companions
Same window: 9 September (after maintenance) – 7 October, 11:59 PM UTC.
Defeat monsters to fill a gauge. When it fills, Frieren, Fern and Stark appear and support you while you hunt.
This one costs you nothing extra, and that's the point worth making. It's a buff layered onto grinding you were already doing — no separate mode to queue, no schedule to keep. If you train at all during the month, it runs itself.
Magic Replica Monsters also spawn to block your path, and defeating them pays out a spread of items. The reward preview shows EXP coupons, a medal, coins and boxes among the drops.
Practical read: this event rewards ordinary training hours, while the Spell Collection rewards showing up on a weekly schedule. Different demands, same window.
What you buy: the three store items
All three share the identical sale window — 9 September (after maintenance) UTC to 7 October, 11:59 PM UTC — and all three are purchases, not event rewards.
Philosopher's Book — chairs, totems, a title, a medal and other collaboration items. The preview features the bronze statue as a chair, alongside chat and name-tag cosmetics.
Special Petite Luna Pets — collaboration pets modelled on Frieren, Fern, Stark and one of their companions. Pet equipment is sold separately, which is the detail most likely to catch people out: the advertised price is not the finished cost of a fully-equipped pet.
Signature Style Collection — the outfit sets. The preview shows ten distinct looks, covering the main party and several demon-side characters.
Budget these separately from your event plan. Nothing on the earned side unlocks anything on the paid side.
The story hook
A mysterious bronze statue appears on Mushroom Hill, and Frieren and her companions arrive in Maple World. A new adventure to collect magic spells begins.
That's a more considered opening than it first appears. Bronze statues of Himmel the Hero are the recurring motif of the entire anime — the physical trace of a party that outlived its own quest. Using one as the doorway into Maple World, rather than a generic portal, suggests the tie-in was written by someone who watched the show.
What to do
- Log in on 9 September after maintenance. Everything opens at once.
- Clear the weekly Spell Collection objective every week, all four weeks. Weeklies don't carry over, and this is where the event is won or lost.
- Spend Adventure Passes steadily rather than hoarding them. 20 stops across four weeks means roughly five a week.
- Check the event shop early so you know what Adventure Coins are worth before you have any.
- Don't confuse the Signature Style Collection with a reward. It's a sale, and it closes at the same moment as everything else.
- If you buy a pet, price the equipment too. It's a separate purchase.
- Diarise 7 October, 11:59 PM UTC. Precise close, not end-of-day local.
The collaboration is generous with time and strict with weeks. A month sounds like room to spare right up until the third weekly reset passes untouched.

Build the account the event expects
A weekly quota of 1,000 monsters and a month of gauge-filling both assume a character that can train efficiently — and level, equipment and Star Force investment are the slow half of MapleStory.
