🎺 New 5★: The Dahlia (Fire / Nihility)

Front and center in 3.8 is The Dahlia, a new 5★ Fire / Nihility character and a member of the mysterious Annihilation Gang, previously teased in the Penacony storyline.

She brings:

  • Fire damage with a debuff-oriented Nihility kit

  • Synergy with DoT / debuff teams

  • A signature 5★ Light Cone “Never Forget Her Flame” featured in the Brilliant Fixation weapon banner during Phase 1

If you enjoy controlling fights through debuffs and ramping damage over time, she’s built to be a new pillar of Fire/Nihility comps.

  • The Dahlia (NEW) – Fire / Nihility, with 4★s:

  • Missed Firefly, Fugue, Lingsha, Aglaea, or Sunday? There’s a rerun phase for each.

📜 New Finality Mission & Map – “Memories are the Prelude to Dreams”

3.8 adds a new Finality Mission titled “Memories are the Prelude to Dreams”.

  • Focus: Ties together unresolved story threads and faction perspectives from Penacony that didn’t get full spotlight in the main Trailblaze missions.

  • Expect: Heavy lore, faction cameos, and emotional epilogue-style storytelling.

Alongside it comes a new Penacony map:

🌳 Dream of Gnawing Oak

  • A fresh Penacony area unlocked during the Finality Mission

  • Packed with exploration, chests, and environmental storytelling tied directly to the new questline

If you’re a lore enjoyer, 3.8 isn’t just about banners—it’s a proper narrative follow-up to Penacony.

🎮 Event Lineup – Combat, Farming, and Free Passes

3.8’s event calendar is dense, mixing combat challenges, farming bonuses, and login freebies:

🐺 Chrysos Awoo Championship (Dec 17 – Feb 9, 2026)

  • A “Chimera World Tournament” event

  • Build lineups and battle other trainers in themed matches.

  • Good mix of combat and rewards over almost the entire patch.

🌒 Remnants of Twilight (Jan 7 – Feb 9, 2026)

  • Pure combat event with multiple difficulty tiers

  • Clear challenges to earn upgrade materials and premium rewards.

💎 Treasure Hunt (Jan 28 – Feb 12, 2026)

  • Spend Trailblaze Power to hunt treasure nodes

  • Rewards include Self-Modeling Resin and Stellar Jades, making it a must-do if you’re min-maxing relics and resources.

🎟 Gift of Odyssey 3.8 (Dec 17 – Feb 12, 2026)

  • Simple but huge value: log in for 7 total days

  • Earn up to 10 Star Rail Special Passes just by logging in.

📦 Double-Reward Farming Events

  • Planar Fissure (Dec 29 – Jan 12) – 2× Planar Ornaments from Simulated Universe Worlds.

  • Realm of the Strange (Jan 16 – Feb 12) – 2× Cavern of Corrosion relics.

  • Garden of Plenty (Jan 28 – Feb 12) – 2× rewards from Crimson & Golden Calyx (trace and XP materials).

These windows are prime time for resource grinding—plan your Power around them.

🌀 Divergent Universe: Protean Hero – More Depth, More Rewards

The Divergent Universe: Protean Hero rogue-like mode gets a 3.8 refresh:

  • New Equations, Weighted Curios, and Occurrences added

  • Synchronicity Level cap raised to 120, expanding long-term progression and rewards

If you enjoy “deck-building” style combat runs, this patch gives you more buildcraft toys and milestones to chase.

💀 New Boss – Harbinger of Death: Swarm Nightmare

3.8 introduces a new boss enemy:

  • Harbinger of Death: Swarm Nightmare (also called the Iron Cavalry Knight)

  • Appears as part of the 3.8 Finality Mission

  • Adds a fresh boss pattern and endgame-style encounter to the roster

Expect layered mechanics, swarm motifs, and damage checks tailored around newer kits like The Dahlia.

⚙️ Key 3.8 Optimizations & System Updates

Several subtle but impactful QoL upgrades land with 3.8:

🧭 Multi-Path Team Lineup Optimization

  • You can now preset the Paths for Trailblazer and March 7th directly in the Team Lineup screen.

  • Once saved, their Paths won’t auto-switch when you change things in the Character panel.

This makes juggling multi-Path units in multiple teams much less annoying.

📓 Event Notes Overhaul

  • Event Notes page now shows:

    • Event type (Story / Casual / Combat)

    • Total Stellar Jade available from that event

No more guessing which event is worth your time if you’re just chasing jades.

🌓 Extra Apocalyptic Shadow Phase

  • 3.8 includes an additional Apocalyptic Shadow phase near the end of the patch.

  • Result: Four endgame phases total, so more cycles for endgame currency and testing teams.

💱 Currency Wars Balancing

  • Currency Wars: Zero-Sum Game sees adjustments to:

    • Certain characters

    • Equipment

    • Bonds

Fine-tuning the meta within that special mode.

💡 Player Tips – How to Approach 3.8 Smartly

  • Pull Planning:

    • Debuff Fire main? Go for The Dahlia (Phase 1).

    • Missed Firefly or Sunday earlier? Their reruns are here—check your account gaps before pulling.

  • Farm Windows:

    • Mark the dates for Planar Fissure, Realm of the Strange, and Garden of Plenty and hoard Power to burn during those.

  • Story First:

    • Clear “Memories are the Prelude to Dreams” and unlock Dream of Gnawing Oak early—story missions often unlock or intertwine with events and the new boss.

  • Divergent Universe Grind:

    • Use 3.8 to push Synchronicity Level higher and grab the new Curios/Equations before future versions ramp difficulty again.
