HSR Catch-Up Guide 2026: Get Your Account Collab-Ready Before July 24

Honkai: Star Rail is in one of its most generous stretches ever. Version 4.3 "The Lethe Below the Living" is live, free Stellar Jades are flowing, and on July 24 the Fate/stay night collaboration returns with a free five-star (Gilgamesh or Archer) for every player who logs in. If you are a lapsed Trailblazer — or a brand-new one — the next six weeks are the single best window in years to catch up. This guide is your roadmap.

Step 1: Clear the Free Value First

Before spending anything, harvest what 4.3 hands out: login event Jades, the version's free Special Passes, and the event shops from Pixelplane Rumble and Wispae Amusement Park. Combined with redemption codes from the 4.3 livestream, an active returning player can stack several multi-pulls without touching their wallet. Set your dailies to autopilot: the daily training cycle remains the most reliable Jade drip in the game.

Step 2: Power-Level Through the New Player Pipeline

HoYoverse has steadily compressed the early game. Story acceleration, boosted EXP events, and the equilibrium catch-up curve mean a fresh account can reach end-game relevance within a couple of weeks of focused play. Priorities in order: push the main story for Jades and unlocks, raise your Trailblaze Level toward the latest equilibrium, then start relic farming only once you hit the highest tier — farming relics early is the classic new-player resource trap.

Step 3: Build Around Your Free Five-Star

When the Fate collab lands July 24, you choose between Gilgamesh and Archer free. That choice should anchor your team planning now. Build the universal support core that benefits any DPS: a sustain unit, a harmony amplifier, and break or debuff support. The beauty of HSR's team structure is that strong supports never expire — every Jade you invest in them pays off across all future banners, collab included.

Step 4: Touch the New Endgame Early

Version 4.3 introduced Starward Mode alongside the existing endgame rotation. You do not need to clear it day one, but unlocking each endgame mode starts its reward clock — and those recurring Jades compound. Partial clears still pay; never leave an endgame mode locked out of intimidation.

Step 5: Spend Your Time Where It Multiplies

The catch-up killers are choice paralysis and resource scatter. Three rules keep you efficient: level one team of four to your wall before touching alternates, spend Trailblaze Power on the day's most relevant material rather than perfect relics, and bank your Jades — with the collab and 4.x banners ahead, impulse pulls on filler banners are the most expensive mistake a returning player can make.

Why This Window Matters

Collab events historically bring HSR's biggest content drops, login rewards, and player surges. Arriving with a leveled account, a built support core, and a Jade stockpile means you experience the Fate event as a victory lap instead of a scramble.
