GFL2 Chiral Redundancy Part 2: Soppo and Everything Coming 17 Sept
By Michael Pras 17 September 2026, 02:00 WIB
Girls' Frontline 2: Exilium opens Chiral Redundancy Part 2 after maintenance on 17 September, running to 7 October, and the official overview shows a second wave heavier than a mid-version top-up: new Elite Doll Soppo with her signature rifle, a brand-new combat system called Heavy Ordnance Corps, a new Soirée, four outfits and a discounted weapon skin, Covenant and Neural Helix expansions, and 30 free Outfit Access Permissions handed out over six weeks. Sunborn's own announcement bills Soppo as the first Doll able to deal both Freeze and Burn damage, which is why most Commanders held tickets through Part 1. Here is everything confirmed for the 17th, in the order it matters.
Soppo: the headline Doll
Soppo is a returning character from the original Girls' Frontline, arriving in Exilium as an Elite Doll — the top rarity tier — in the Sentinel class, the role built around holding ground and punishing enemies that enter its zone, and using assault rifles. What sets her apart is her element. Dolls normally deal one attribute of damage; Soppo deals both Freeze and Burn, the first Doll to do so according to the developer's announcement. Freeze slows and locks enemies down, Burn applies damage over time, and one unit carrying both can trigger elemental effects on the battlefield's Phase Tiles that would otherwise need two Dolls to set up.
Her Targeted Procurement — the game's rate-up pull banner — opens on the 17th with Sharkry and Nagant sharing the rate-up, and the Part 2 event period closes on 7 October. Alongside her comes the new Elite Weapon Sky-Shattering Howl, an assault rifle using medium ammo, on the usual separate weapon banner. Soppo and Nagant also receive a Covenant update — the affinity milestone that unlocks a Doll's exclusive archives, memories, voice lines and Covenant Projection — and Soppo is added to Holography in the Crew Deck.
Whether she fits your roster is a different question from whether she is strong. If your squads already lean on one Freeze Doll and one Burn Doll to cover tile effects, Soppo folds those two slots into one. If you have neither, she is the fastest route to those interactions. If your account is built around a different element entirely, her value is narrower and the pulls may be better saved. Our Girls Frontline 2 Soppo kit breakdown covers her stances, keys and team synergies so the decision can rest on specifics.
She is not the only thing changing how battles play, though. Part 2 also introduces a new system.
Heavy Ordnance Corps: the new combat system
Heavy Ordnance Corps (HOC) launches after the 17 September maintenance as a combat system built around Armed Echelons — support units such as an automatic grenade launcher team, rated on stats like Precision, Coverage, Endurance, Power, Tactical and Response, with active and passive slots. Per the overview, its purpose is to counter the combat pressure enemy forces apply on the outer battlefield, which reads as a layer of support fire that sits alongside your Doll squad rather than replacing it. The preview shots are marked as in development, so exact numbers and interface may shift before launch.
Two things make it worth engaging with immediately:
- Gathering Allies is a permanent event that rewards the Armed Echelons Diner-Mo and Support Scholar plus the Apex Component Differentiation – Firepower Reconstruction, all free. Because it does not expire, it can be worked through at your own pace.
- HOC Expansion is the system's first limited-time event, running 17 September 09:00 to 24 September 04:59 (UTC-4) — a one-week window, the shortest on the calendar. Its reward icons show supply crates and equipment cases, so this is where early HOC materials come from.
The one-week clock on HOC Expansion means the system is not something to leave for later in the version; the first event around it closes before most of the other Part 2 content even opens.
Part II story, Alva's Neural Helix and the other banners
Part 1 introduced OTs-14 and the first MOD Doll, Nemesis: Gnosis, and centred its story on two versions of the same Doll meeting. Part II continues that thread with Soppo, whose promotional material frames her motivation as reuniting her old team from the original game; the overview's tagline speaks of a shared blessing that protected them but also cast them out. The developer has described Chiral Redundancy as the second chapter of a longer arc, so expect Part II to answer questions Part 1 raised rather than open a separate plot. Story and Supply stages follow the established event structure and feed the event shop.
Beyond Soppo's banner, the overview lists two further Targeted Procurement banners: one featuring Loreley and one featuring Alva, each alongside standard-pool Dolls. Alva also receives a Neural Helix expansion, the Doll upgrade tree that adds new nodes and keys to an existing unit, so Commanders who already run her get a power bump without a pull.
Story and banners are the combat side of the wave; the Crew Deck side is where the free rewards concentrate.
Bountiful Harvest, four outfits and a discounted skin
A Soirée is a themed Crew Deck event — a set of scenes and tasks with the Dolls that carries its own reward track. Bountiful Harvest runs 17 September to 7 October and pays out Collapse Pieces, Basic Info Cores, exclusive furniture and the unlock item for Nemesis: Gnosis' Interactive Story Scene, Time Capsule – Hidden Constellation, all free. Once its window ends it moves to the Past Soirée archive permanently, so it can sit behind time-limited content if your schedule is tight — but the Gnosis story unlock is a reason not to leave it too late.
Four outfits arrive on the 17th:
- Springfield – Stirring Mermaid, with a special outfit effect, in Outfit Procurement from 17 September; includes orange-quality accessory variants obtained separately
- Soppo – Redline Racer, on limited-time discount; includes purple-quality accessory variants obtained separately
- Lewis – One for the Bunny, in both the Outfit Boutique and Outfit Procurement; includes purple-quality accessory variants
- Alva – Wisteria Tidings
The new weapon skin Coldsteel Accolade is also discounted from 17 September 09:00 to 7 October 18:59 (UTC-4).
Outfits run on a separate spending track from Doll and weapon pulls, so picking one up does not compete with your Soppo budget — and this wave, a large share of the outfit budget is free.
30 free Outfit Access Permissions
Outfit Access Permissions are the pull currency for Outfit Procurement. From 17 September to 28 October, the game distributes 30 of them across five sources:
- Log in to claim — 10
- Free shop packs — 5
- Gift mails — 5
- Crew Deck weekly activity rewards — 1 per week for 6 weeks
- Sundries exchange — 2 per month for 2 months
The total covers everything distributed within 42 days of the 17 September update. Two of those sources need attention rather than a single login: the weekly Crew Deck reward resets every seven days, and the Sundries exchange has to be claimed each month. Miss a week and that Permission is gone.
Doll pulls have their own free source still running: Reunion Oath spans the whole version, grants 80 Reunion Permission through missions, and lets you select the Doll its first guarantee lands on. Because it covers both halves, it is still live for Soppo. Our Chiral Redundancy calendar and reward breakdown covers every source in the version and how they add up.
The free rewards are spread across a schedule, which brings us to the dates.
Every Part 2 event and its window
The official overview lists eight featured events. Ordered by start date:
- HOC Expansion — 17 to 24 September
- Finding Soppo (sign-in) — 17 September to 7 October
- Simulation Exercise — 23 September to 7 October
- Intelligence Supplies — 25 to 30 September
- Liminal Iteration — 27 September to 11 October
- Double Resource Event (Supply Mission – Fission and Neural Survey – Fission) — 1 to 7 October
- Dangerous Excavation — 3 to 17 October
Two of these outlast the version: Liminal Iteration closes 11 October and Dangerous Excavation closes 17 October, so 7 October is not the final deadline for everything. The Double Resource week from 1 October is worth planning stamina around — doubled Fission drops from Supply Missions and Neural Surveys are the cheapest upgrade materials the version offers. The earlier version roadmap also listed a permanent Crossroad Challenge boss update for the second wave; it does not appear in the Part 2 overview, so check the in-game notice on the 17th.
Deadlines around the launch
The 17th sits between several overlapping windows:
- 16 September — OTs-14's Targeted Procurement closes. Pity does not transfer to Soppo's banner; a partial count on OTs-14 is worth nothing on the 17th, so commit before the cutoff or stop now and save.
- 17 September — Part 2 opens with Soppo, Heavy Ordnance Corps, HOC Expansion, Bountiful Harvest, Finding Soppo and the outfit wave.
- 19 September, 04:59 (UTC-4) — Frontier Conquest closes, two days after launch. Our Frontier Conquest guide explains why supplies, not raw team strength, decide how far you get.
- 24 September — HOC Expansion closes.
- 7 October — Part 2, Soppo's banner window, Bountiful Harvest and the Coldsteel Accolade discount end.
- 11 October — Liminal Iteration ends. 17 October — Dangerous Excavation ends. 28 October — the 30-Permission distribution ends.
The practical read for the launch week: finish Frontier Conquest first, start HOC Expansion second, and let Soppo's story stages wait — they run for three weeks, the other two do not.
Before 17 September
- Decide on OTs-14 today: reach the guarantee or leave the banner untouched.
- Choose your Reunion Oath target if you have not; its missions are gated by progress, so late starts risk falling short.
- Clear Frontier Conquest phases now so the 17th–19th overlap does not squeeze both it and HOC Expansion.
- Read the Soppo kit guide and settle the fit question before the banner tempts you.
Ready your squad for Part 2
Soppo and the new Armed Echelons only become assets once the Dolls, weapons and attachments around them are developed enough to field, and that infrastructure is the slow half of any GFL2 account.
