Clash Royale Shocktober: Every Confirmed Feature From TV Royale
By Michael Pras 29 September 2026, 14:00 WIB
Supercell's TV Royale broadcast has laid out Shocktober, Clash Royale's electricity-themed October, and the vague preview names now have mechanics attached. Hero Electro Wizard, an Evolved Electro Giant that de-levels enemies, C.H.A.O.S Season 3 with a guaranteed Epic modifier, the returning CRL 20-Win Challenge, a horror collection album, and a global community event are all confirmed. What TV Royale did not give is numbers and dates. Here is every confirmed feature, what the standout mechanics do, and the gaps that still need the patch notes.
The short version
- Hero Electro Wizard: keeps the base card's landing stun and twin-target zap; his Hero Ability fires two electric lasers that lock onto the two nearest enemies, stunning them continuously and dealing damage for as long as the beams connect.
- Evo Electro Giant: carries a Zap-pack that charges every few seconds and releases a shockwave that lowers the level of enemy cards in range — the reverse of Royal Chef — visibly shrinking them.
- C.H.A.O.S Season 3: 20 new cards added to the pool; every modifier choice offers options of the same rarity, with a guaranteed Epic modifier on the fourth pick.
- Shocktober Album: a classic-horror-themed collection where you gather snippets to complete the album and unlock rewards.
- CRL 20-Win Challenge: the elimination format returns — reach 20 wins before three losses.
- Keep the Lights On: a global community event where every player's choices feed a shared energy meter that sets the free reward tier for everyone.
- Not shown: start and end dates, Elixir and ability costs, the Evo's cycle count, and October balance changes.
Hero Electro Wizard
Electro Wizard already stuns on arrival and chains between two targets. The Hero form keeps both and adds an ability rather than replacing the card's identity.
When activated, the Hero fires two high-power electric lasers that lock onto the two nearest enemies. Locked targets take continuous stun and continuous damage for as long as the beams stay connected. That last clause is the important one: a sustained lock is very different from a burst. Against a tank it is a long soft counter that holds it in place; against a support push it can neutralize two threats at once for the ability's duration.
The unknowns are all numeric — the ability's cost, its duration, the damage per second, and whether the lock breaks if the target leaves range. TV Royale showed the effect, not the values. Weigh the lockdown against what you already get from the ordinary Electro Wizard before spending Hero Coins.
Evo Electro Giant, and why de-leveling is new
The base Electro Giant punishes attackers inside its electrical range. The Evolution adds a mechanic Clash Royale has not had on this side of the ledger before.
The Evo carries a special Zap-pack that charges every few seconds. When it fills, the Electro Giant emits a wide shockwave, and each pulse lowers the card level of enemies within its radius. Supercell's own framing is that this is the reverse of Royal Chef, which buffs friendly cards; the Evo debuffs enemy ones. Affected units visibly shrink on the arena to show the reduced level.
The consequence is worth spelling out. Card level sets hitpoints and damage, so a de-leveled defender loses effective HP and a de-leveled counter loses the damage it needs to trade. The Evo is therefore not just a tank that hurts what hits it — it degrades the defense assembled against it, so every subsequent pulse hits a weaker wall. That compounds: the longer the Giant survives in a cluster, the smaller and weaker that cluster becomes.
What TV Royale did not show is the size of each level reduction, whether it stacks, how long a de-level lasts, the radius, and the Evolution's cycle count. Those numbers separate a gimmick from a menace.
C.H.A.O.S Season 3
C.H.A.O.S is the draft-and-modify mode where you build from a selected pool and pick match-long upgrades during battle. Season 3's confirmed changes are two:
- Twenty new cards are added to the selection pool.
- Every time you choose, all modifier options share the same rarity, and the fourth pick is a guaranteed Epic modifier.
The guaranteed Epic on the fourth choice is the meaningful one. It turns modifier selection from a gamble into a plan: you know a high-impact modifier is coming on pick four, so the first three picks can be chosen to set it up rather than hoped to hit. That rewards knowing which Epic modifiers exist and what they pair with, which is exactly the mode's skill expression.
Pool contents beyond "20 new cards", the rotation schedule, and whether both drafted and prebuilt-deck formats return were not detailed. Read the modifier text live rather than relying on Season 2 memory; the mode changes substantially between runs.
The events
Shocktober Album. A collection event themed on classic horror movies. Players gather snippets to complete the album, and completing it unlocks rewards. The reward contents and the snippet sources were not itemized on the broadcast.
CRL 20-Win Challenge. The classic elimination format returns: 20 wins before three losses. Previous editions varied entry cost, level cap and reward milestones year to year, so none should be assumed from memory.
Keep the Lights On. A global community event on a shared theme — keeping the power on. Every player's decisions feed a shared community energy meter, and the meter's final level sets the tier of free rewards everyone can claim. This is the one that rewards participation over skill: the rewards are unlocked collectively, so the individual job is simply to take part before it closes.
Where it sits, and the story hook
Shocktober follows September's Minion Academy season (Minion Giant, Hero Ice Wizard, Royale Shuffle). The Hero context still applies: the March 2026 update made Hero unlocks a choice-based process using Hero Coins, with Hero Ice Wizard unlockable for 200 Hero Coins, so watch your Coin balance rather than spending it on an older Hero just because you can.
Every headline feature this month is electric, which is why the season carries the Shocktober name — and a hint that the free-reward event and the two new electric cards are meant to be pursued together.
What isn't known
- The season's start and end dates in each time zone. A October 5 start has circulated from third parties but was not confirmed on TV Royale.
- Hero Electro Wizard's numbers: activation cost, ability duration, damage per second, and lock behavior at range.
- Evo Electro Giant's numbers: level reduction per pulse, stacking, duration, radius, and cycle count.
- C.H.A.O.S Season 3's full pool, rotation and formats beyond the 20 new cards and the fourth-pick Epic.
- Every event's dates and reward lists: Shocktober Album, the 20-Win Challenge, and Keep the Lights On.
- October balance changes, which can shift the value of any new deck built around these cards.
What to do
- Hold your Hero Coins until you've seen Hero Electro Wizard's cost. The lockdown ability is strong on paper, but the numbers decide whether it beats your current defensive options.
- Don't over-invest in an Electro Giant package on names alone. Wait for the Evo's cycle count and de-level values before rebuilding a deck around it.
- For C.H.A.O.S, plan around the fourth-pick Epic. Use the first three choices to set up the guaranteed Epic rather than picking blind.
- Treat Keep the Lights On as free-for-participation. Take part early; the reward tier is collective and there is nothing to grind individually.
- Prepare one consistent deck for the 20-Win Challenge. An elimination format rewards reliability over surprise, and you cannot re-roll a third loss.
- Finish any late-September objectives first. Royale Shuffle's window can extend into early October; check your own Events tab rather than assuming Shocktober closes it.
