CODM Season 9 Best Guns Tier List & Loadouts (Vampires vs Werewolves)
By Sir Ayup
The best gun in CODM right now depends on how much Season 9: Vampires vs Werewolves changed your favorite loadout. The season launched on October 14, 2026, with a free new assault rifle, the Grav, and a balance update that buffed 12 weapons, from the STEN and LC10 to the ZRG 20mm and Type 25, while the Static-HV took a nerf. At gamemarket.gg, we combined the official Season 9 balance list with current community rankings to build an updated tier list, explain what changed and give you loadouts you can copy before Season 10 arrives on November 11.
What Changed in CODM Season 9
Activision's official Season 9 patch notes list these weapon and equipment changes:
Buffs:
- SMGs: STEN, HG 40, LC10, CX-9
- Assault rifles: BK57, Type 25, Swordfish, Maddox
- Snipers and marksman rifles: SVD, ZRG 20mm, M21 EBR, Kilo Bolt-Action
- Equipment: Flash Strike, Storm Ball, Cluster Grenade
Nerfs:
- Static-HV (SMG)
- Contact Grenade, Quick Strike, Kinetic Station, Rewind and Mechanic
Adjustments: Sparrow, Kinetic Armor, Trickster, Skill Overdrive and Kill Streak Support
The official infographic confirms which items changed, but not the exact numbers. Figures shared from the Season 9 test server before launch included:
- STEN: chest multiplier from 1.2x to 1.23x
- LC10: initial damage from 24 to 26, head multiplier from 1.1x to 1.3x
- BK57: ADS time from 240ms to 200ms
- Type 25: magazine from 34 to 38, damage range up 15%
- SVD: ADS time from 380ms to 310ms, plus faster movement
- ZRG 20mm: magazine from 5 to 6
- Static-HV: first damage range from 10m to 9m, second range from 16m to 14m
Treat those numbers as pre-launch test values, since final values can change before a season goes live.
The New Grav Assault Rifle
The Grav is the season's headline weapon, and it is free at tier 21 of the Season 9 Battle Pass.
Activision describes it as having high bullet velocity that "shreds distant targets." Community testing also points to low recoil, a fast fire rate and a 35-round base magazine, which makes it comfortable at close to medium range. Early tier lists place it in A-Tier: strong and easy to use, but not clearly above the established top assault rifles.
CODM Season 9 Weapon Tier List
This ranking combines the official Season 9 buffs and nerfs with current community tier lists for Multiplayer and Ranked:
S-Tier
- STEN (SMG): buffed this season and rated among the best close-range options
- CBR4 (SMG): still one of the strongest SMGs despite earlier nerfs
- Type 19 (AR): very low recoil and reliable at most ranges
- DL Q33 (Sniper): the most well-rounded sniper in the game
- LW3-Tundra (Sniper): very high damage with good control
A-Tier
- Grav (AR): the free Battle Pass pick, with high bullet velocity and low recoil
- Type 25 (AR): bigger magazine and longer damage range after its buff
- Maddox (AR): tighter ADS spread after its buff
- ZRG 20mm (Sniper): one-shot potential, now with an extra round in the magazine
- PPSh-41 and MAC-10 (SMGs): both remain strong close-range options in current rankings
- Fennec (SMG): a fast-firing choice for aggressive players
B-Tier
- LC10 and HG 40 (SMGs): buffed, but still a step behind the top SMGs
- SVD (Marksman): much faster ADS and movement after its buff
- Static-HV (SMG): still usable up close, but its shorter damage range hurts in mid-range fights
- QQ9 (SMG): a Season 6 favorite that has slipped down most current lists
Tier lists move quickly after each patch, so use this as a starting point and test the guns that fit your playstyle.
Best Assault Rifle Loadout: Grav
The Grav is the easiest recommendation this season because everyone can unlock it for free. A popular community build:
- Muzzle: Agency Suppressor
- Barrel: 23.2" Extended Barrel
- Stock: No Stock
- Ammunition: 40 Round Fast Reload
- Rear Grip: Field Tape
This setup trades some stability for faster sprint to fire and a larger magazine, which suits players who push objectives.
If you prefer the most stable rifle in the game, the Type 19 is a strong alternative. A common build runs the Tactical Suppressor, Precision Barrel, Ranger Stock, Extended Mag and Granulated Grip Tape.
Best SMG Loadout: Fennec
For close-range fights, the Fennec remains a reliable pick for rushers. A common build:
- Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
- Barrel: MIP Extended Barrel
- Laser: RTC Laser
- Ammunition: Extended Mag
- Rear Grip: Granulated Grip Tape
If you already own the STEN, it is worth testing after its Season 9 buff. Its chest multiplier increase helps it secure kills faster in short-range duels.
Best Sniper Loadout: LW3-Tundra
The LW3-Tundra combines high damage with good control, making it one of the safest snipers this season. A community build:
- Muzzle: Light Suppressor
- Barrel: Extended Barrel
- Stock: Combat Stock
- Laser: Laser Sight
- Rear Grip: Fast ADS Grip
For players who prefer aggressive quickscoping, the DL Q33 remains the most well-rounded option, while the ZRG 20mm rewards precise shots with one-shot potential.
Recommended Perks
A balanced perk setup that works with most of the loadouts above:
- Red: Lightweight, for faster rotations
- Green: Quick Fix, for health regeneration after kills
- Blue: Dead Silence, to hide your footsteps, or High Alert to see where you are being shot from
Which Gun Should You Use?
- Free-to-play players: start with the Grav, since it costs nothing and sits in A-Tier
- Ranked grinders: the Type 19 for consistency, or the STEN if you prefer close-range fights
- Snipers: the LW3-Tundra or DL Q33
- Static-HV users: keep it for close range, but consider a switch if your matches involve longer sightlines

Looking Ahead to Season 10
Season 9 ends when Season 10 launches on November 11, marking CODM's 7th anniversary. A new balance update usually arrives with each season, so expect this tier list to shift again. Grab the Grav before Season 9 ends and test the buffed guns while their changes are still fresh.
