Blood Strike Vox & G36 Guide: Skills, Grenade Launcher & More
By Sir Ayup 16 September 2026, 22:00 WIB
Vox joined Blood Strike with the 1 September update, and his primary skill does something no other Striker does: it defers damage rather than blocking or healing it.
Take the hit, keep the health bar, and the debt is cleared — but only if you get out of the fight. Stay in, and it comes due.
That single line changes how Vox should be played, and most players will get it backwards. Here's how both he and the new G36 actually work.
The short version
- Vox is an acoustic engineer and underground DJ from Medellín's District 13.
- Sonic Overdrive boosts Movement and Weapon Handling Speed for Vox and nearby teammates, and defers part of incoming damage.
- Deferred damage is cleared once you leave combat, along with HP lost during the effect.
- Sonic Grenade pulses through walls, slowing enemies and preventing sprinting.
- The G36 carries an exclusive Grenade Launcher attachment with one-tap mode switching.
- The G36 unlocks by levelling the Strike Pass.
Sonic Overdrive is not a shield
The skill boosts Movement Speed and Weapon Handling Speed for Vox and nearby teammates, and defers part of incoming damage.
Once out of combat, any remaining deferred damage is cleared, and HP lost during the effect is restored.
Read that carefully, because it's the whole skill. Deferred damage is not prevented damage. It's damage that hasn't arrived yet, held in suspension while the effect runs.
Disengage successfully and it's written off. Stay in the fight and you're carrying a bill that hasn't been paid.
So Sonic Overdrive is not a push button. It's an extract button.
The speed boost and the damage deferral are the same tool used for the same purpose: get in, get value, get out before the debt lands. Using the movement speed to press an aggressive fight is exactly the wrong read — it keeps you in combat, which is the one condition under which the deferral stops helping you.
Two failure modes to avoid:
- Activating it while teammates are still healing, reloading, or out of range. The buff is proximity-based; teammates who aren't near you get nothing.
- Staying in a prolonged exchange because the health bar looks fine. It looks fine because the damage hasn't arrived. That's not the same as surviving it.
The correct use: a short, coordinated window. Push in, take the trade, break contact while the deferral is still running. Vox rewards squads that agree on a call word so everyone moves at once rather than reacting late.
Sonic Grenade denies more than it damages
The Sonic Grenade emits pulses through walls, reducing enemy Movement Speed and Weapon Handling Speed and preventing sprinting.
Through walls is the important part. You don't need line of sight, which means you can debuff a squad holding a building before you commit to entering it.
And preventing sprinting matters more in Blood Strike than a slow normally would. In a battle royale built on rotations and repositioning, a squad that can't sprint can't reposition — they either hold where they are or walk out in the open.
Use it to create an advantage, not to guess. Throw it when you have reliable information about where enemies are. A Sonic Grenade into an empty room is a wasted cooldown and a noise beacon announcing your position.
The G36 and Grenade Mode
The G36 is a Type MM-99 209mm AU assault rifle built around stability and suppression.
Its exclusive BAS attachment, the Grenade Launcher, lets you switch to Grenade Mode in-match with a single tap and fire high-explosive grenades.
The one-tap switch is the mechanical advantage. Swapping to a secondary weapon or a thrown explosive costs you animation time; a mode switch on the same weapon doesn't. In a close engagement, that difference decides trades.
What it's for:
- Clustered enemies — area damage against a stacked squad.
- Opponents entrenched behind cover — the answer to a team that won't peek.
What it isn't: a replacement for a reliable line of fire. The grenade mode extends your zone control; it doesn't remove the need to shoot accurately in the other mode.
The G36 unlocks through Strike Pass progression, so it's earned rather than drawn — a free route, provided you put in the pass levels.
Vox and the G36 work together
Worth noting, since they launched in the same update.
Both are about controlling space rather than winning duels.
Sonic Grenade denies enemy movement. Grenade Mode punishes enemies who stop moving. A squad slowed and unable to sprint is a squad that's easier to catch with area damage — and a squad hiding behind cover from the G36 is exactly the kind a wall-piercing debuff reaches.
Pair Vox with teammates who provide information and control, not with three players chasing the same elimination. An ally who marks targets and another who cuts off escape routes multiply what Vox contributes; four players pushing the same door do not.
What isn't published
- Sonic Overdrive's exact numbers — how much speed, how much damage is deferred, and how long the effect lasts.
- Sonic Grenade's radius, duration and cooldown.
- G36 base stats and how Grenade Mode's damage compares to standard fire.
- Which Strike Pass level unlocks the G36.
- Whether Vox is free or requires unlocking, and at what cost.
Check the Striker and weapon detail screens in-game for the live figures.
What to do
Treat Overdrive as an exit tool. The speed is for leaving, not for pushing deeper.
Call it before you commit, so the squad uses the window together rather than trailing into it.
Plan an escape route before you activate. Vox performs best when he can break contact while the deferred damage resolves.
Throw Sonic Grenades on information, not on hope.
Level the Strike Pass for the G36. It's a progression unlock rather than a purchase.
Learn Grenade Mode's swap timing in casual matches first. One-tap switching is fast, but fast inputs still need to be the right inputs.
Everything else in the update
The same 1 September patch brought the 2.5-Year Anniversary Celebration, and several parts of it are still running:
- Lucha Strike, the AAA wrestling collaboration, runs 4 September to 23 October, with the Hank – Mr. Iguana collab Striker skin available through missions.
- Reaper Gacha Giveaway — the EVO-tier SVD – Reaper gun skin, with 50 Reaper Gacha Vouchers to claim.
- PEAK SHOWDOWN and the new Duel mode, a stripped-back format focused on pure combat rather than large-scale battles.
- A Legendary ALONDRA skin, ranking titles and achievements.
Many anniversary rewards run through daily missions, which means they can't be caught up at the end. Start them early rather than planning a final-week sprint.
Building the loadout behind them
A new Striker and a Strike Pass weapon land on whatever account you bring them to — and rank, loadout progression and retired collaboration cosmetics are the parts that can't be earned back once their windows close. Browse verified Blood Strike accounts if you'd rather play the anniversary from a developed loadout, book Blood Strike hourly services to push Strike Pass levels and daily missions before the rewards expire, or climb rank through Blood Strike boosting while the season runs.
