TFT Patch 18.5 Preview: Enchanted Wilds Meta Changes
By Sir Ayup
TFT Patch 18.5 is the fifth patch of Set 18: Enchanted Wilds, and it is scheduled to go live on Wednesday, October 21, 2026. Early changes found on the test server point to a patch that rewards economy augments, pulls back on Rapidfire, Juggernaut and Blackthorn, and gives a lift to units like Varus, Tristana and Hecarim. At gamemarket.gg, we broke down every expected change to units, traits, augments and wisps, and what they could mean for the Enchanted Wilds meta.
TFT Patch 18.5 at a Glance

- Patch: 18.5
- Set: Set 18: Enchanted Wilds
- Release date: October 21, 2026
- Biggest themes: stronger economy augments, nerfs to Rapidfire, Juggernaut and Blackthorn, and new 3-star 1-cost augments
- Status: based on test server data, so final numbers may change in the official patch notes
Unit Changes
Buffs
- Alune: Attack Speed 0.8 → 0.85
- Hecarim: Starting Mana 30 → 50
- Mama Beak: Attack Damage 55 → 60
- Master Yi: Attack Damage 60 → 63
- Tristana: Mana to cast 60 → 50
Mixed changes
- Taric: Magic Resist 65 → 70, but Mana to cast 65 → 70
- Varus: Attack Speed 0.7 → 0.75 and Mana to cast 120 → 110, but Starting Mana 30 → 20
Tristana and Hecarim are the standouts. Tristana casts noticeably sooner, while Hecarim's higher starting mana should get his first cast off much earlier in fights.
Trait Changes
Buffs
- Fae: healing 2.5% → 3% and 4% → 5% at its first two breakpoints
- Sprykin: Health and Attack Speed at its top breakpoint 45% → 55%
Nerfs
- Attuned: Durability 7% → 5% at its first breakpoint
- Blackthorn: bonus strength 60% → 50% at its highest breakpoint
- Flora Fatalis: lowest-Health heal 8% → 7% of max Health
- Juggernaut: Damage Reduction 33% → 30%
- Rapidfire: Attack Speed per attack 8% → 7% and 12% → 10% at its higher breakpoints
- Solar: Ascension now needs 8 unique 3-star champions instead of 7
Swapped
- Lunar: the Attack Speed and Ability Power values trade places, so Lunar now gives more AP and less Attack Speed at every breakpoint
Rapidfire and Juggernaut losing power suggests Riot wants to slow down the strongest frontline and attack speed boards, while the Lunar swap quietly favours AP carries.
Augment Changes
Economy augments get stronger

- Investment Strategy I: gold 4 → 6
- Investment Strategy II: gold 8 → 10

New and removed
- Construct a Companion and Forge A Friend are new: both make your next 1-cost champion 3-star, with a small gold bonus
- Pandora's Items II is split into three versions with different gold amounts
- Double Trouble is removed
With Level Up! jumping to 10 instant XP and several gold augments buffed, fast-levelling strategies look a lot more appealing in 18.5.
Wisp Changes
- Killing Frenzy: Attack Speed on kill 15% → 30%, and 40% → 60% for the upgraded version
- Backrow Star: Attack Speed 85% → 100%, and 115% → 130% for the upgraded version

What It Means for the Meta
- Economy openers get stronger, so expect more fast-level boards.
- Rapidfire and Juggernaut lose power, so expect fewer boards built around those two traits.
- AP Lunar boards gain value from the stat swap.
- Tristana and Hecarim could become more common thanks to faster casts.
- 3-star 1-cost openers get new support from Construct a Companion and Forge A Friend.
