R1999 Ramona Build — Poison Archetype Carry Walkthrough

Ramona arrives in Reverse: 1999 as the Phase 2 headliner of Version 3.5, opening June 18 and running through July 2, 2026 — and she's the dedicated Poison archetype main carry the community has been waiting for since Willow first proved the playstyle viable. The 6-star Plant Afflatus Arcanist combines high-volume Poison stack application with the ability to detonate those stacks for amplified damage, finally giving Poison teams a true endgame DPS ceiling. This is the complete Ramona build walkthrough for Timekeepers preparing to pull her during her debut banner window.

🌿 Why Ramona's Banner Matters

Ramona is positioned as one of the most mechanically consequential 6-star Arcanists Bluepoch has released in recent versions. She's the first dedicated main carry built specifically for the Poison archetype — a playstyle that has lived on Willow's shoulders since Version 2.3 and lacked a definitive endgame DPS upgrade until now.

Her Phase 2 banner runs June 18 – July 2, 2026, giving Timekeepers a 14-day window to secure her. For accounts building around Poison teams or looking to expand into a fresh archetype with strong endgame potential, this is the debut banner — and her next rerun could be 6+ months away.

What makes Ramona unique is her dual-mechanic Poison kit. Most Poison-applying characters either stack Poison OR detonate it — Ramona does both within the same combat loop. Her base Poison application creates the foundation, then her detonation mechanic converts stacked Poison into burst damage windows that scale aggressively with the number of stacks present.

⚔️ Ramona's Kit Breakdown

Rarity: 6-star
Afflatus: Plant
Damage Type: Mental
Role: Main DPS / Poison Carry
Mechanic: Poison stack application + detonation hybrid

Her core gameplay loop:

• Skill 1 (Poison Application): Primary tool for inflicting Poison stacks on enemies. Builds the foundation for detonation windows.
• Skill 2 (Damage + Stack Builder): Mental damage with additional Poison stack generation. Mid-cycle resource builder.
• Ultimate (Detonation): Consumes accumulated Poison stacks for amplified burst damage. The higher the stack count on enemies, the larger the detonation payoff.
• Talent / Passive Synergy: Ramona's kit rewards sustained Poison application before detonation windows. Patient stack-building creates the highest damage ceilings.

The detonation mechanic is core to her power. Detonating early at low stack counts wastes her ceiling; detonating after substantial stack buildup creates massive damage windows that single-handedly clear stages. Mastering the rhythm between stacking and detonating is the skill expression that separates good Ramona Players from great ones.

Important note: Detailed kit specifics (exact damage multipliers, stack caps, Resonance pattern optimization) are still being finalized by the global community. CN server players (3 months ahead) have established meta patterns, but global community testing during the first 1-2 weeks of her banner will refine these recommendations.

💎 Best Psycubes for Ramona

R1999 characters perform best with their signature Psycube — the dedicated 5-star or 6-star Psycube released alongside their banner. For Ramona, her signature Psycube is the clear BiS choice.

Signature Psycube — BiS for Ramona

Her signature Psycube is tuned specifically to her Poison stack + detonation mechanic. The passive amplifies both her base damage scaling and her detonation multipliers, significantly outscaling generic Plant Afflatus alternatives.

For Timekeepers committed to Ramona as their primary team carry, signature Psycube pulls should be prioritized alongside the character pulls.

Alternative 6-Star Psycubes:

• Offbeat Strides — Strong Genesis/Poison damage scaling, works as universal Plant DPS option
• Blasphemer of Night — Excellent if enemies have multiple negative statuses (Poison counts), 24% increased damage scaling
• Brave New World — Universal Incantation Might boost for Ultimate-focused damage profiles

4-Star Budget Option:

• Her Mournful Face — +40% Poison damage at maximum amplification; affordable starter Psycube for Ramona while you save for 6-star signatures

If the signature isn't accessible, Offbeat Strides is the strongest community-tested alternative for the Poison archetype generally. Plan Psycube pulls based on long-term Plant Afflatus investment, not just Ramona.

🎵 Resonance Pattern

Ramona's optimal Resonance pattern is still being finalized by community theorycrafters. Based on her Poison DPS role and Mental damage profile, the priority guidance is:

• Critical Rate — Standard for damage-focused characters; reliable scaling stat
• Critical Damage — Pairs with Crit Rate for high-end damage ceiling
• ATK% — Scales her base damage and detonation multipliers
• Mental DMG Bonus — Specific damage type amplification

CN community veterans have published optimized Resonance patterns for Ramona during her CN release window (approximately 3 months ago). Global Timekeepers can reference these as a starting point while monitoring community theorycrafting for refinement specific to global server meta.

Resonance progression notes:

• Hyper(ATK) builds are the consensus starting framework for Ramona
• Generalized patterns work for casual Players who haven't committed to maximum optimization
• Watch community theorycrafting and tier list updates for global-tested patterns within first 2 weeks of her banner

👥 Best Team Compositions

Ramona slots into Poison archetype teams as the dedicated main carry. The optimal compositions leverage her stack-building while supporting her detonation windows:

Team #1: Pure Poison Carry (BiS Archetype)

• Ramona (Main DPS — stack + detonate)
• Willow (Sub-DPS Poison stacker, Hag's Bane Genesis damage)
• Sotheby (Poison amplification + healer hybrid)

This is the consensus Poison-mono composition. Willow provides additional Poison stacking through Hag's Bane, while Sotheby amplifies Poison damage and sustains the team. All three characters scale off the same Poison ecosystem, creating overlapping synergies.

Team #2: Balanced Poison + Support

• Ramona (Main DPS)
• Tuesday (Spirit Afflatus Poison Sub-DPS, additional stack generation)
• Avgust (Plant Afflatus healer/buffer, team sustain)

For Timekeepers who want Poison damage potential with stronger team sustain, this composition replaces Willow's pure DPS with Avgust's hybrid healing/buffing. Slightly lower ceiling but more forgiving in difficult endgame content.

Team #3: Budget Plant DPS Team

• Ramona (Main DPS)
• An-an Lee (Universal Plant Sub-DPS)
• 4-star Plant Afflatus support (Hissabeth or accessible alternative)

For F2P or budget-focused Timekeepers, this composition uses standard pool characters to support Ramona without requiring additional 6-star pulls.

Team #4: Universal Carry Setup

• Ramona (Main DPS)
• Versatile Sub-DPS (Tuesday or any high-DPS Arcanist)
• Lopera or Avgust (Universal buffer/healer)

For Timekeepers without the full Poison ecosystem, Ramona functions as a strong solo carry in mixed-Afflatus compositions. Lopera's universal buffs amplify her damage output regardless of archetype.

📊 Substat Priorities

1. Critical Rate — Target consistent crit windows for sustained damage
2. Critical Damage — Scales crit damage ceiling for detonation bursts
3. ATK% — Foundation scaling stat
4. Mental DMG — Specific damage type amplification
5. HP / DEF — Survivability secondary, only when sustainability is weak in your composition

The Crit ratio for Ramona trends 1:2 (CRIT Rate to CRIT Damage) — standard for high-end R1999 DPS profiles. Pushing past 70% CRIT Rate provides diminishing returns; shift remaining substats into ATK% and Mental DMG.

📈 Insight Progression

R1999's Insight system unlocks progressive ceiling for each character. For Ramona:

• Insight 1 — Initial unlock; basic gameplay functional
• Insight 2 — Mid-tier ceiling unlock; access to additional kit components
• Insight 3 — Final ceiling; unlocks all passives and maximum level cap

Reach Insight 3 before chasing maximum optimization. The Insight materials are R1999's primary character investment gate, and skipping levels limits Ramona's actual damage output regardless of Psycube quality.

Skill Levels:

• Level Skills to 7-9 — Each rank provides meaningful damage scaling
• Max Skills to 10/10 — Final absolute ceiling; expensive but rewarding for endgame focus

🎯 Pull Strategy for Ramona

Pull Ramona if:

• You have or plan to build a Poison team (Willow, Tuesday, Sotheby in roster)
• Your account lacks a dedicated high-tier Plant Afflatus main carry
• You enjoy stack-based damage mechanics with patient burst windows
