Genshin Impact 6.7 Preview: Sandrone Arrives July 1 as the Lunar Cycle's Grand Finale

The Luna chapter of Genshin Impact is approaching its final act. Version 6.7 launches on July 1, 2026, and it carries unusual weight: it is confirmed as the closing patch of the entire Lunar cycle, with no Version 6.8 expected afterward. When 6.7 ends, the story hands the baton directly to the arc the community has speculated about for years — Snezhnaya, homeland of the Tsaritsa and the Fatui. Here is everything we know, and exactly how to prepare your account over the next few weeks.

Sandrone: The Marionette Steps Out of the Shadows

Version 6.7 introduces exactly one new character, and it is a big one: Sandrone, the Fatui Harbinger known as "Marionette," debuting as a five-star Cryo claymore DPS. Harbingers have historically been some of the most anticipated and strongest banner characters in the game, and Sandrone arrives with years of lore buildup behind her — from her appearances in official teasers to her reputation as the Fatui's machine-obsessed engineer.

For team builders, a premium Cryo claymore main DPS opens interesting doors: freeze compositions with established hydro enablers, melt cores with pyro supports, and physical-hybrid setups depending on how her kit scales. Full kit details will be confirmed during the 6.7 livestream, but if you are a Cryo enjoyer or a Harbinger collector, this is the banner your Primogems have been waiting for.

A Rerun-Heavy Patch — and Why That Is Good News

Outside of Sandrone, every other banner slot in 6.7 is a rerun. Rather than a weakness, that makes this one of the friendliest patches of the year for value: you can target Sandrone with your saved wishes while catching up on a missed favorite in the other phase, all without the agonizing triple-new-character dilemmas of recent versions.

Your 3-Week Preparation Checklist

1. Bank Primogems aggressively. Version 6.6 Phase 2 runs until June 30 — finish the Spiral Abyss reset, clear remaining event shops, and sweep exploration chests in the current Luna zones. A lost 50/50 means you need roughly 160-180 wishes to fully secure Sandrone; start counting now.

2. Pre-farm what you can. Cryo DPS staples — talent books on their farmable days, weekly boss materials, and claymore enhancement ore — save you days of waiting after you pull her.

3. Spend expiring currencies. Version rollovers historically wipe or convert event shop tokens. Leave nothing on the table.

4. Plan around the finale. As the Lunar cycle's last patch, 6.7's Archon Quest content is expected to set the table for Snezhnaya. If you are behind on the story, catching up before July 1 will make the finale land much harder.

The Bigger Picture: Snezhnaya Is Next

The end of the Lunar cycle means Genshin's next major region is on deck. Snezhnaya has been the community's white whale since 2020 — the Cryo Archon, the full Harbinger roster, and the climax of the Traveler's journey all converge there. Pulling Sandrone now is not just a meta decision; it is a head start on what is shaping up to be the biggest narrative arc in the game's history.
